New Albany, Mississippi is proud of its rich heritage. This pride is no more prevalent than in our downtown area. The Magnolia Civic Center shares this history with its roots as an entertainment hub for our community dating back decades.
The historic Cine’ Theatre served for many decades as New Albany’s movie theater for current popular movies through the years. Generations have filled its seats for big screen films as well as theatrical performances.
After closing the original Cine’ Theatre in the late 1990s, the decision was made to create a unique theater and civic center that would serve the community in the present as well as in the future. A plan was set in motion to fully renovate the existing theater. In addition to the theater renovations, an event room was added. This has allowed the citizens of New Albany to host a variety of events ranging from small gatherings and meetings to wedding receptions and birthday parties.
Just as the Cine’ Theatre was an important part of the past heritage of New Albany, the Magnolia Civic Center is now part of a new heritage of New Albany that will be enjoyed for generations to come! With its central location and close proximity to our excellent downtown merchants and restaurants, the Magnolia Civic Center creates a comfortable and pleasing atmosphere for events of all types.
